Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM)

My path to Chinese medicine began in an unexpected place: the radiation oncology department. For more than a decade, I worked alongside cancer patients and their families, witnessing both the incredible strengths and limitations of modern healthcare. While I value the science and technology that helps save lives, I found myself drawn to a deeper question: How do we support the whole person through illness, healing, and life’s transitions?

That question eventually led me to Chinese medicine.

Today, I bring together the insights of both conventional western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine to help patients find greater balance, resilience, and well-being. I believe healing is about more than relieving symptoms. It is about creating space for the body to recover, the mind to settle, and the spirit to reconnect with what matters most.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of providing thousands of treatments for people navigating pain, cancer treatment and recovery, fertility issues, digestive concerns, stress, anxiety, grief, burnout, and major life changes. Some patients come seeking relief from physical symptoms. Others arrive feeling disconnected, exhausted, depleted. Wherever you are on your journey, my goal is to meet you with compassion and respect.

In addition to private practice, I have served as an adjunct faculty at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC. I am a published contributor to the field of acupuncture ethics. I also served as a nonprofit clinic director, providing care to underserved communities, veterans, hospice patients, and individuals recovering from natural disasters. These experiences have reinforced my belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare and are why I am passionate about empowering patients through education, collaboration, and informed care.

 ‌

I strive to create a welcoming space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Whether we are working together to address a specific health concern or to cultivate greater vitality and balance, I view healing as a partnership built on trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection.

Originally from Washington State, I have returned to the PNW after spending over a decade in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll often find me with my three senior dogs and husband spending time in nature, continuing my studies, dancing to some live music, or enjoying meaningful moments with family and friends.

I look forward to being part of your healing journey.

During early elementary school, my class took a field trip to Sakura Square in Denver, CO. There, I explored the Buddhist Temple and was especially drawn to and comforted by the chanting the monks practiced. It was there I also experienced an emerging spiritual and energetic connection to a way of living very different from that of my peers.

Those early memories never faded and came full circle when I first completed my undergraduate degree in Biology emphasizing pre-med classes. Instead of continuing in the traditional route to a Western medicine degree, I aimed to apply and bring awareness of the ancient wisdom Eastern medicine provides to my patients and completed my graduate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Denver, CO. ‌
